Dead shooting outside of Las Vegas high school

One person was shot and killed near of a Las Vegas high school Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The shooting took place near the athletic fields near Canyon Springs High School, North Las Vegas Police Department spokesman Eric Leavitt told the Review Journal.

The unidentified male victim, 18, was pronounced dead at University Medical Center, according to KTNV. It’s unclear if he was a student.

Police believe that the shooting was targeted, not random. Officers said there was just one lone victim.
