Beifang International Education Group US Alumni Association Foundation Ceremony Held in Los Angeles
By the chance of celebrating Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, Beifang International Education Group (BIEG), invited the Beifang alumni students who attended the US schools, and the faculties from the University of Southern California, together with the entrepreneurs, science and technology elites to celebrate the Festival and the Foundation Ceremony of BIEG US Alumni Association.
At the ceremony, Dr. Deguzman, Associate Director of Education and Professional Development Department of the USC Price School of Public Policy, Jingjie Li, Deputy Director of the Global Strategy Office at USC, and Mr. O’Brien, faculty of the USC School of Dramatic Arts, delivered a speech for the establishment of the BIEG US Alumni Association, presenting their compliments of BIEG’s educational achievements overseas, and looking forward to BIEG’s future cooperation with local top educational institutions like USC to jointly promote the process of international education development.
As a representative of the outstanding alumni of the BIEG, Haonan Zhu, who is currently studying at the USC School of Pharmacy attended the ceremony. She shared her experiences at one of BIEG’s schools, Yanchi Technology institution. She expressed her gratitude to BIEG for providing her the opportunity to participate in a certificate program in the University of Victoria, Canada. This overseas study experience motivated her to make up her mind to pursue an abroad master degree.
As a representative of SoCal Chinese elite, Yang Deng also congratulated the establishment of BIEG US Alumni Association. He is the founder of FYPO, a non-profit organization and 2017 AACYF 30 under 30. He shared his experience in the field of social innovation and entrepreneurship. He believes that it is tremendously important for young people to have a mentor for their career development. He expressed his appreciation for BIEG’s platform to support the personalization and international development of global students.
Lillian Ma, the head BD of BIEG-US, introduced the new BIEG member – Sofia University. Founded in 1975, Sofia University is located in Palo Alto, the center of Silicon Valley, adjacent to Stanford University. It is a WASC accredited prestigious psychology school. Sofia University currently offers undergraduate, graduate and doctor degrees in psychology, computer science, and MBA. It attracts a large number of outstanding local and international students each year. After joining the BIEG family, Sofia will exploit the advantage of its faculty, subject and location to make positive contributions to the global higher education. Sofia’s goal is to partner with students to help them achieve their educational and professional goals. As a result, the students who have passed through Sofia University have gone on to experience life-changing pursuits, as well as to positively impact the world around them. Sofia is committed to core values such as humility, inclusivity, and service to others. Sofia take those elements of our mission statement seriously, and strive to do all things with transparency and integrity.
Among BIEG’s overseas alumni, there are excellent engineers, outstanding artists, business and law elites, all playing important roles in their field. In order to support the alumni’s academic and career development, and enrich their overseas life, the regional alumni associations will organize various activities, such as the festival party, company visit, special holiday gifts and alumni career fair, etc. Alumni Association will become the home for alumni no matter where they are, to enhance the friendship, share information, help each other and benefit together.
BIEG has 18 private universities in China, and one in the US, with over 210,000 students enrolled. We’ve built the international development offices in the United States (Los Angeles, San Francisco), Canada (Victoria, Vancouver), the United Kingdom (London) and Australia (Sydney). Since 1998, BIEG has been at the forefront of the pioneers of higher education in China, and has spared no effort to build an international interactive network platform for students to cultivate their innovative thinking and creativity. Unprecedented creation of the “International Advisory Committee”, the world’s top educational resource platform, invited former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, former Canadian Prime Minister Joe Clark, former Greek Prime Minister George A. Papandreou, Nobel Prize in Economics Eric Maskin and other world-renowned leaders serve as consultants to help BIEG provide better education services in China and around the world. At the same time, the BIEG international office has developed the prestigious programs like Overseas Certificate Program, University-Enterprise Partnership Program, Master’s Degree Pathway Program and Sunshine Scholarship. The Sunshine Scholarship is for American students to study in the institutions under Beifang in China. In the past few years, BIEG international development offices have held various educational events such as Edu Hackathon, AI Seminar, and China-US Film Industry Analysis Forum, which all enjoyed high reputation in the local area.
