Join Robert J. Brown as he takes you behind the scenes of the most pivotal moments of the 20th century — moments he experienced firsthand as an advisor, confidant, and friend to the most prominent leaders of the last six decades.
Brown will visit the Nixon Library to talk about:
- Life as a police officer in High Point, NC in the 1950s.
- Marching with Revs. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Ralph Abernathy in the early days of the Civil Rights movement.
- Assisting Robert F. Kennedy in his senatorial and presidential campaigns.
- Spearheading minority business enterprise programs under President Richard Nixon, and initiating the Nixon administration’s Black College Program.
- Visiting with Nelson Mandela in a South African prison, and expanding literacy in South Africa by building 300 libraries.
- Founding one of the oldest minority-owned business management firms in the country.
And more…. learn why the Horatio Alger Association called him “the most remarkable man you’ve probably never heard of.”
Brown is the author of You Can’t Go Wrong Doing Right: How a Child of Poverty Rose to the White House and Helped Change the World, a personal account of his life with memorable lessons that will speak to the dreamer in all of us.
This event is free to attend, and a book signing will follow.
