China to stay undisturbed and achieve success

The Bureau of Industry and Security of the US Department of Commerce last week put Huawei and its affiliates on the “Entity List”, which restricts the sale or transfer of US technologies to the company. The bureau gave Huawei a 90-day license to purchase US technologies to maintain existing networks and provide software updates to existing Huawei handsets.

In response to the temporary license, Ren Zhengfei, founder and CEO of the Chinese technology titan, said on May 21 that what is most important for Huawei to do is to do its own thing well. “We cannot control what the US government will do,” he said.

Ren’s remarks, which reflect the moral integrity, confidence and entrepreneurship of the Chinese company, have been widely circulated and discussed online.

A recent post by China’s State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission on micro-blogging site Weibo also lighted up the passion of the Chinese internet users.

Hailing the innovative achievements of Chinese state-owned enterprises, the post said that China-made tunnel boring machines now occupy 2/3 of global market share while the country was only capable of making blueprints at the beginning, and China once hit the bottleneck in super-high-voltage power transmission, but now it has even mastered the ultra-high-voltage technology.

The post also commended China’s petroleum industry, saying it was through hard work that China has made it to the top in oil exploration, exploitation, refining, and transmission, the areas in which the country used to be less competitive.

From backwardness and blockades, China has achieved technological independence and made a number of entrepreneurship legends.

To start something big is never an easy task, but China has always stayed committed. What the country relies on are its resolution and persistence.

Though the Chinese people have weathered hardships, endured sacrifices, and encountered obstacles, they have never stopped struggling for their dreams.

From a country suffering poverty and underdevelopment, China has built itself into one where people are the masters. It embarked on the road of reform and opening up, a key move that has decided the nation’s destiny, and ushered in a new era for the socialism with Chinese characteristics through historical achievements and reforms.

It was by focusing on its own affairs and staying undisturbed from the external environment that China achieved success, overcame difficulties and developed a path of its own.

“There is only one heroism in the world: to see the world as it is and to love it,” and the Chinese people are aware of the fact that the path of development has never been a smooth one.

The most important thing for China is to brace up, catch the opportunities, face challenges and overcome all difficulties and obstacles, no matter how the external environment changes.

Food security depends on crop production, and the initiative in real economy comes from core technologies. Cutting-edge and core technologies are never borrowed or bought, but created and produced with patience and hard work. Resolution is more important than self-awareness, and responsibilities play a bigger role than approaches.

Ordinary people can make extraordinary achievements. The new era is an era for strivers, miracles and heroes.

China is home to more than 100 million market entities, and has a labor force of over 900 million people, 170 million of which have received higher education or training in professional skills. Besides, it also has and 89 million Party members. Every little step made by these people can generate a large stride for China’s development, creating potential and confidence.

Chinese people and enterprises are able to conquer all obstacles and win every battle as long as they focus on their own duties. History will eventually prove that what doesn’t stop the nation will make it stronger.

History will remember those who take concrete steps along a long journey. The concerted efforts made by the nearly 1.4 billion Chinese people to bravely chase their dreams are unstoppable.

“By our own indomitable efforts we the Chinese people will unswervingly reach our goal,” said Chairman Mao Zedong 70 years ago while declaring the founding of the People’s Republic of China. By doing their things in a down-to-earth manner, the Chinese people are bound to achieve success and rejuvenate their nation.
