Houston International Film Festival signed strategy agreement with CITIC Trust
Recently, CITIC Trust’s CITIC Juxin Capital (Beijing) Capital Management Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “CITIC Juxin“) together with World Fest-Houston International Film & Video Festival and its operator Dream River Studio, reached a strategic cooperation agreement, which committed to the cooperation in the cultural industry, the media industry, film festival operations, cultural exchanges between China and U.S and capital operation.
CITIC Juxin is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CITIC Trust, a professional equity investment platform. It owns a number of private equity fund management institutions as well as RMBfunds and foreign dollar funds. It also has a nearly ￥60-billion-scale of asset management. The Houston International Film Festival was founded in 1968 in Houston, Texas. It is the oldest independent film festival, and is the three selection film festival in North America along with the San Francisco Film Festival and the New York Film Festival. During the 50 years since founded, the Houston International Film Festival has set 10 units of selection: the best feature film, documentary, experimental film, TV commercials, new media, film script and so on. There are also over 200 sub-items under these. It has provided a large number of opportunities of recognition and awards for those fledgling young film talents. It also getsthe support and recognition of successive US presidents. Through the long-term cooperation with the six major Hollywood studios, the Houston International Film Festival has acquired a wealth of award-winning films and script IP copyright during the 50 years. It is also the film festival that Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Ang Lee and other world-renowned director had first award-winning, and successfully helped them get the first signing and job opportunities in Hollywood film. More than 4,000 entries from over 70 countries are participated in the Houston International Film Festival annually on average, with 30% of the winning sales rate. The signing of the strategic cooperation agreement has opened a new chapter for the 2017 50th Houston International Film Festival.Over the next two years, CITIC Juxin will establish a bridge for the domestic capital and industry through the Houston International Film Festival.
