Yantai company develops disinfection robots for anti-virus

Shandong Guoxing Intelligent Company, headquartered in Yantai, East China’s Shandong province, recently developed two generations of disinfection robots for the fight against the novel coronavirus pneumonia.

The two robots, named “Leishei 1” and “Huoshei 1” were developed and remodeled in only a week’s time.

“Although the research and development time was very short, I firmly believe that the two robots will be able to perform well and play a key roll in fighting the epidemic,” said Liu Wentao, general manager of the company.

The robots can help to shoulder the responsibility of disinfection. They can be used in shopping malls, parks, bus stations, parking lots, residential communities, and streets, especially narrow passages which are difficult for personnel to access or highly contaminate areas.

“We plan to produce 20 disinfection robots for virus prevention and control as soon as possible and then begin mass production,” Liu said, “we should be able to produce 100 of the robots per month.”

The company has decided to donate two robots to the Yantai government for epidemic prevention and control on the frontlines. It will also donate one second-generation product worth 1 million yuan ($144,927) to Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak.

Shandong Guoxing Intelligent Company has been leading the country in the R&D of robots. Its business covers environmental protection, fire protection, military industry and new energy. It has won many awards for its specialized robots both at home and abroad.
