Coronavirus positive cases jump over 100k in NYS

More than 2,900 people have died from the coronavirus in New York and more than 100,000 positive COVID-19 cases have been diagnosed, Governor Andrew Cuomo said Friday.

The number of deaths surged by almost 600, the biggest one-day jump to date. Cuomo also expressed concern over the increase in cases on Long Island.

“Long Island does not have as elaborate a health care system as New York City,” he said. “And the number of cases makes us concerned.”
