To discuss unemployment challenges and concerns during COVID-19, I will be joined by:
- Congresswoman Katie Porter
- Gloria Alvarado, Executive Director Orange County Labor Federation
- Jenna Gerry, Senior Staff Attorney, Legal Aid at Work
- George Warner, Wage Protection Fellow, Legal Aid at Work
We will cover:
- How to apply for State & Federal benefits.
- How to take advantage of the State’s new job website onwardca.org.
- Additional state and federal resources available for employees impacted by the COVID-19 epidemic.
If you have any questions on unemployment related issues, please send them by: Tuesday, April 14th, by 5:00 p.m. We’ll address them on the town hall, respond via email, and in our website FAQs.
If you are unable to attend, a playback of the town hall will be available via my Facebook and website.
In the meantime, I want to encourage you to visit California’s dedicated hub on COVID-19 news, including resources for employees, at https://www.covid19.ca.gov.
