Virtual Town Hall on what to expect for the 2020-21 School Year
Californians have done an incredible job “flattening the curve” by staying at home as much as possible during the COVID-19 pandemic. As we ease into our four phase re-open plan, we want to continue providing virtual town halls to address your concerns based on data and guidance from public health experts.
Educating our kids this Spring has been a huge challenge for parents, educators, and especially frustrating for many of our children. It’s vital that we all stay engaged in maintaining a healthy and productive learning environment for our children. I invite you to join me this Thursday, for a virtual town hall to discuss education and the upcoming school year:
Thursday, May 21st
5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
via Facebook Live
www.facebook.com/
We’ll be joined by California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond and a local teacher who can help answer your questions about:
- Distance learning & tips for parents
- Addressing learning loss
- What we should expect for the 2020-2021 school year
- Topics submitted by parents and caregivers like you!
You can also catch up on my virtual town halls from previous weeks. Topics include mental health, unemployment assistance, resources for veterans, help for renters & homeowners, tax extensions, and COVID-19 testing.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office with questions or assistance. We must continue to stand together, when facing the challenges of this pandemic. If you have any questions call my team at: (949) 251-0074. Stay home, stay safe, stay strong.
Yours faithfully,
Cottie Petrie-Norris
