Albertsons and Safeway in Colorado Helped the Salvation Army Give 3,000 Boxes of Food to Those in Need
Albertsons Safeway is a corporate partner of The Salvation Army, and helped source food for the 3,000 boxes, provided a discounted rate on food purchased by The Salvation Army, donated gift cards, and supplied 5 semi-trucks and drivers to transport food to the event. At the event, volunteers loaded food into vehicle trunks and back seats, including boxes filled with canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, jelly, canned meat, two loaves of bread, oatmeal, and cereal, as well as a gallon of milk, one dozen eggs, 2 pounds of chicken and a $20 gift card to Albertsons and Safeway. Additionally, The Salvation Army received a $20,000 grant from the Albertsons Companies Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors Fundraiser in the Denver Division.
The Salvation Army has also been working with the Albertsons Companies Foundation in Idaho, where more than 2,900 food boxes have been given out and more than 10,000 Treasure Valley individuals and families have been helped since the beginning of the pandemic.
