Supervisor Hahn Statement on 2020 Homeless Count Results

Los Angeles, CA— Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn has released the following statement regarding the 2020 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count results which showed 66,433 people in Los Angeles County experiencing homelessness. This represents a 12.7% rise from last year’s point-in-time count of 58,936:

“This is nothing short of tragic.  We may be moving more people off the street, but we are nowhere close to meeting the massive scale of this problem.  I am frustrated and I am worried about how many more people could fall into homelessness in the wake of this pandemic.  I think it is time we rethink our strategies because the direction we are going is unacceptable.”
