Congressmember Mike Levin Stands With Westminster Councilmember Sergio Contreras for Orange County Board of Supervisors

WESTMINSTER, CA — In another testament to his extensive coalition of support from prominent local leaders, today Westminster Councilmember Sergio Contreras earned an endorsement from U.S. Congressmember Mike Levin in his campaign for the Orange County Board of Supervisors First District.

In a statement released with his endorsement, Congressmember Levin commented:

“In these challenging times with so much at stake, it’s more critical now than ever that our local elected officials exhibit integrity and decency, and stand up for the most vulnerable. Sergio Contreras will do just that on the Orange County Board of Supervisors. Throughout his career, Sergio has been a dedicated voice for working people in his community, fighting for progress on a range of issues, from expanding affordable healthcare and enhancing economic opportunity, to fighting for educational equity and advocating for more affordable housing. Sergio has the experience and vision we need on the Board of Supervisors, and I’m excited to endorse him.”

Orange County’s First District of the Board of Supervisors continues to be a ripe red-to-blue flip opportunity for Democrats. In the 2020 primary for the First District, Democratic candidates finished with 57.7% of the vote to the Republicans 42.3%. In terms of voter registration, Democrats hold a 19 point advantage over Republicans, making up 44% of all registered voters in the First District.
