LA COUNTY PARKS AND LOS ANGELES RAMS CHEERLEADERS TO HOST FREE VIRTUAL CHEER CAMP

Kick-off begins Monday with Live-stream Event and Cheer Lesson

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation (LA County Parks) kick off the first-ever Virtual Cheer Camp on Monday, July 27, with an interactive live-stream event with the Los Angeles Rams Cheerleaders. Youth can “attend” remotely via video conference from any computer or mobile device since COVID-19 restrictions do not allow for an in-person meeting of this size.

LA County Parks staff will teach cheer basics and the Rams Cheerleaders will offer dance routines while promoting positive self-esteem, teamwork, and empowerment. Youth (co-ed) between 4-18 years old may participate. All levels welcomed.

  • After the live kick-off event, the remaining Virtual Cheer Camp programming will be available via LA County Parks From Home Virtual Recreation Center with pre-recorded videos from LA County Parks and Los Angeles Rams Cheerleaders.
  • This year LA County Parks Cheer Program celebrates its 25-year anniversary of empowering girls, boys and youth between 4-18 years old. Every year about 500 to 800 participants learn different levels of techniques like stunts, dance, and cheer from cheer instructors at 20 parks and during annual cheer clinics.
  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, LA County Parks offers Cheer Mini-Camps that adhere to strict COVID-19 safety guidelines and allow only 12 participants per location.
