SERGIO CONTRERAS EARNS SUPPORT OF CONGRESSMAN CISNEROS FOR OC SUPERVISOR
U.S. Representative Gil Cisneros Endorses Westminster Councilmember Sergio Contreras in OC BOS D1 Race
WESTMINSTER, CA — Continuing to amass wide-ranging support from prominent Orange County leaders in his campaign for the OC Board of Supervisors First District, today Westminster Councilmember Sergio Contreras secured the endorsement of Congressman Gil Cisneros, who represents California’s 39th District.
In a statement released with the announced endorsement, Rep. Gil Cisneros commented:
“I’m pleased to endorse Sergio Contreras for Supervisor because he’s an energetic, common-sense, and solutions-oriented leader that will listen to the experts and bring people together as we respond to this unprecedented crisis. Throughout the pandemic, Sergio has worked tirelessly to ensure frontline workers and families in his community have the care and resources they need. I know Sergio will combat the Board’s misguided politicization of COVID-19 and instead work to get families back on their feet while ensuring that every Orange County resident has access to the healthcare they need. That’s why I support his campaign for Supervisor and look forward to helping him get elected.”
Orange County’s First District of the Board of Supervisors continues to be a ripe red-to-blue flip opportunity for Democrats. In terms of voter registration, Democrats hold a 19 point advantage over Republicans, making up 44% of all registered voters in the First District.
