APAPA Congratulates Senator Kamala Harris
Sacramento, CA – On Tuesday, August 11, 2020, Presumptive Presidential Candidate Joe Biden announced that he selected U.S. Senator Kamala Harris as his Vice Presidential Candidate.
“I have the great honor to announce that I’ve picked [Kamala Harris] — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants — as my running mate,” stated Biden on his social media accounts.
Harris is the daughter of Jamaican and Indian American parents, making her the first Black and Asian American woman to be selected for the Vice Presidency.
Harris’s nomination for Vice President of the United States is a historic and progressive moment worthy of recognition. Her leadership, gender, and race make her a pioneer in challenging the status quo.
