MELISSA FOX BLASTS STEVEN CHOI’S FAILURE TO SUPPORT USPS RESTORATION

IRVINE, CA – Today, Irvine Councilwoman Melissa Fox responded to Assemblyman Steven Choi’s failure to support a resolution in the California Assembly that calls on the federal government to restore the United States Postal Service to guarantee the timely delivery of vote by mail ballots for the general election.

Councilwoman Fox stated:

“Earlier this week, the California Assembly voted 50-0 in favor of a resolution that urges the federal administration to ‘cease and desist from all efforts to reduce the ability of voters to cast their ballots by mail or diminish public confidence in the vote by mail program as it relates to the November 3, 2020, general election’ and demands that United States Postmaster General Louis DeJoy immediately restore all mailboxes and mail sorters back to the communities from which they were removed.

But Steven Choi was nowhere to be found.  Assemblyman Choi again failed to show up to vote.  In fact, Choi has one of the highest no-show rates in the California legislature.

I would have voted in favor of this common-sense resolution to protect our nation’s mail system, something that should be immune from partisan attack. It’s time for us in District 68 to have a representative in Sacramento who cares about the critical issues facing their constituents and shows up to do the job they were elected to do.”
