DEMOCRATS TAKE VOTER REGISTRATION LEAD IN AD-68

For First Time Since Redistricting, Assembly District 68 Has More Registered Democrats Than Republicans

IRVINE, CA – In a sign of the overwhelming enthusiasm on the Democratic side just over a month from the election, for the first time, a plurality of voters in California’s 68th Assembly District are now registered Democrats.

As of today’s voter file update in Orange County, there are now 27 more registered Democrats than Republicans in the 68th – a striking turnaround.

Remarking on the achievement, Irvine Councilwoman and AD-68 candidate Melissa Fox stated:

“I’m extremely proud of the grassroots activists who have spent years mobilizing our community and registering voters to achieve this milestone. The growing number of Democratic voters in every corner of this district makes it abundantly clear that the politics of Donald Trump and Steven Choi’s Republican Party are inconsistent with the values of our community, and that voters are demanding a representative who reflects the honesty, integrity, and inclusivity of the 68th District. My message to our district’s thousands of new registrants is: regardless of which party you register with, your vote matters, this election matters, and I hope every new registrant makes sure to vote by November 3rd.”

Today’s announcement follows the news that Councilwoman Fox’s campaign significantly outraised sitting incumbent Assemblymember Steven Choi in the latest fundraising report, raising more than double the amount Choi raised in that period.
