Statement from Committee of 100 on Justice for George Floyd
New York, NY (April 20, 2021) — The following statement was issued today by Zheng Yu Huang, President of Committee of 100:
“What the world saw as George Floyd passed away before our very eyes was sad, unjust, and horrific. These acts of hate have no place in America, whether directed against Asian Americans, Black Americans, or anyone else based on the color of their skin. Committee of 100 commends the jury for weighing the evidence and arriving at a just verdict for the George Floyd family during this difficult time. Today is a sobering day for our country and we stand united with our brothers and sisters in the African American community. It is critical that as a nation, we remember the name of George Floyd and march towards true justice. Committee of 100 is ready to work with our elected officials, partner organizations, and local community leaders around the country to prevent further acts of ignorance, hate, and injustice, and to build a more perfect union.”
