Monterey Park Councilmember Hans Liang Endorses Mike Fong for California State Assembly District 49

Alhambra, CA – Today, Monterey Park City Councilmember Hans Liang announced his support for Mike Fong in his campaign for the 49th Assembly District. Councilmember Liang previously considered a candidacy in the race to replace Assemblymember Ed Chau. Today’s announcement follows endorsements last week from Congresswoman Judy Chu, Assemblymember Ed Chau, and former Assemblymember Mike Eng, who are the last three Assemblymembers to represent the district. Mike Fong is running to succeed Assemblymember Ed Chau in the event that he does not seek re-election.

Councilmember Liang released the following statement announcing his support:
“I had previously considered my candidacy for State Assembly because our state and communities face huge challenges ahead and solving those problems will take committed leadership. I am supporting Mike Fong because I believe he has the experience and character to lead and tackle the challenges ahead. Mike has a track record of bringing people together, collaborating on solutions, and solving tough problems together. I look forward to working with him closely in the years to come.”

“I am deeply honored and humbled by the endorsement of Monterey Park Councilmember Hans Liang,” said Mike Fong.   “Councilmember Liang is an exemplary leader and I am thrilled for his support in our campaign for Assembly District 49.”

The 49th Assembly District includes the cities of Alhambra, Arcadia, Monterey Park, Rosemead, San Gabriel, San Marino, Temple City and portions of El Monte, Montebello, and South El Monte.
