Jinan’s business environment will attract more companies to invest in the city, said Jang Ha-sung, South Korean Ambassador to China, during the Shandong-South Korea cultural exchange week on July 21.

China is South Korea’s largest trading partner. The two sides have established cooperative ties in many areas. Shandong, with its rich history and remarkable achievements in economic development, is the first choice for many South Korean enterprises looking to invest, according to Jang.

Shandong leads China in artificial intelligence and equipment manufacturing. In the future, there will be a lot of space for cooperation between South Korea, Shandong, and Jinan in environment-related areas, biomedicine, and healthcare, added Jiang.

Jinan ranked ninth among Chinese cities in improving its business environment, according to a recent evaluation by the National Development and Reform Commission. The city is currently home to more than 100 Global Fortune 500 companies, including Bosch, Microsoft, and Sumitomo.
