Partisan fight over vaccine mandates moves to House
| Federal workers are being asked to either show proof of vaccination or face regular testing requirements — but don’t expect the legislative branch to follow suit anytime soon.
More than a dozen House Democrats, frustrated by the spread of the delta variant of COVID-19, are urging the Capitol physician to similarly require proof of vaccination or at least twice-weekly testing in the halls of Congress. Such a mandate would likely face fierce backlash from Republicans, many of whom continue to wage a war on rules requiring masks to be worn in the House. |
