Remembering September 11, 2001 — 20 Years After the Tragedy Saturday, September 11 at 11:00 AM Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum Free Outdoor Public Event The Richard Nixon Foundation will mark the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks with a commemoration ceremony at 11 AM on Saturday, September 11 that will include 23 tons of wreckage from the World Trade Center as its stirring centerpiece. The 23 tons of sacred steel will arrive at the Nixon Library via motorcade with escorts from the CHP, Orange County Sheriff’s Department and Orange County Fire Authority. The motorcade will exit the 57 Freeway at Yorba Linda Blvd. at 10:50 AM. Residents of Brea, Fullerton, Placentia, Yorba Linda and the surrounding communities are encouraged to line the motorcade route to the Nixon Library. The 11 AM ceremony will include remarks by Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes and Orange County Fire Authority Chief Brian Fennessy. The ceremony will also include:
Registration is strongly recommended to attend this ceremony. Admission to the Nixon Library and Museum is not included. Large bags and backpacks will not be allowed at the ceremony. Parking is available at Yorba Linda Friends Church Auxiliary Lot 1 (5091 Mountain View Avenue, Yorba Linda, CA 92886). Parking at the Nixon Library will be limited. |
