The U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce the selection of 75 USA Pavilion Youth Ambassadors who will represent the United States at the next World’s Fair, Expo 2020 Dubai, opening on October 1. The Department, in partnership with Global Ties U.S., recruited these young American leaders through a highly competitive nationwide process. They represent the diversity and dynamism of the United States, hailing from 37 states, studying at 78 U.S. universities and colleges, and speaking 24 languages. Youth Ambassadors embody President Biden’s call to “lead by the strength of our example.”

The flagship USA Pavilion Youth Ambassadors program, a long-running and central element of U.S. participation at World’s Fairs, recruits young Americans to serve as our nation’s cultural ambassadors to millions of international visitors. At the USA Pavilion, they will engage audiences on American values, innovation, history, and culture, and advance people-to-people diplomacy with millions of visitors from the Middle East, South Asia, and around the globe. In the coming weeks, we look forward to introducing the Youth Ambassadors to the public through our @USAExpo2020 and partner accounts on social media.

The USA Pavilion’s theme, “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of the Future,” highlights the American vision of innovation, diversity, and our future. The Pavilion takes visitors through the United States’ history of invention to today’s most creative innovators and global companies. The Pavilion will accommodate business and government delegations, while an extensive slate of American cultural performers will showcase our nation through the Expo’s six months.
