Southern California Chinese Students Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival at USC
Los Angeles, October 2, 2017 – In a spectacular celebration of Chinese culture, Southern California’s Chinese international students came together on the evening of October 1st at USC’s Bovard Auditorium to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. Organized entirely by Chinese students from the University of Southern California (USC), the event drew an impressive crowd of around 900 attendees, making it the largest Mid-Autumn Festival celebration in Southern California.
The Mid-Autumn Festival, one of the most important traditional Chinese holidays, was brought to life after two months of preparation by the USC Chinese Students and Scholars Association (USC-CSSA). The event featured a variety of performances, directed by Sijia Huo and assisted by Haizhen Cao, with all directors and performers hailing from USC.
In attendance were notable figures, including USC professor Nansong Huang, USC-CSSA president YueFeng Zhang, and representatives from other universities’ Chinese student associations. The 3-hour performance captivated the audience, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of China while offering a warm and joyous gathering for Chinese students far from home.
