Valladares Announces Endorsement from Los Angeles City Councilman John Lee
(Los Angeles) – Suzette Martinez Valladares, running for re-election to the California State Assembly in the newly drawn 40th Assembly District, today announced a key endorsement from independent Los Angeles City Councilman John Lee.
“Suzette has been a powerful voice in Sacramento. Her commitment to working across party lines to advocate for safer neighborhoods, early childhood education, accessible healthcare and vaccines, and many other important issues is a huge asset to our communities,” said Councilman Lee.
“I know first hand that Suzette is a strong advocate and will continue her hard work representing Granada Hills, Porter Ranch, Northridge, and all the communities and neighborhoods of the 40th Assembly District. Her constituents are lucky to have such a compelling champion in the state legislature, and I am proud to endorse Suzette Martinez Valladares for re-election to the California State Assembly,” Lee continued.
“I look forward to continuing to work with John and address important issues to our constituents, including California’s high cost of living, homelessness, and public safety. I am a proud founder of the bi-partisan legislative Problem Solvers Caucus, which makes me appreciate even more John’s willingness to put good public policy ahead of partisan bickering,” said Valladares. “I am very appreciative of his endorsement and support.”
John Lee was first elected to the Los Angeles City Council during a special election in August 2019 and re-elected to his first full term in March 2020. John’s deep knowledge of both the Twelfth Council District and local government set him apart as the most qualified candidate in both elections. As a CD12 resident of over 40 years, John found his passion for public service at an early age when he first began volunteering for local nonprofits while in middle school. A lifelong public servant, John has been serving this community his entire adult life. His extensive understanding of the City’s legislative and budget processes and day-to-day operations gives him tremendous insight into what works and what doesn’t at City Hall. With an agenda focused on public safety, supporting local businesses, and providing core city services, John is committed to putting the neighborhoods of the Twelfth District first and ensuring that his constituents have a voice at City Hall.
