Alhambra, CA – Today, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced his support for Mike Fong for State Assembly and urged Democrats to get out the vote for Fong in the February 15 Special Election. Mike Fong is running to succeed Assemblymember Ed Chau. A full list of Mike Fong’s endorsements can be found here.
Governor Newsom released the following statement regarding his endorsement: “Mike Fong will be a powerful voice for the San Gabriel Valley in the State Assembly. His experience and work ethic will make him effective, and we can count on him to advance policies that create jobs, improve schools, protect our environment, and safeguard our most vulnerable. I urge you to join with leaders throughout the San Gabriel Valley in supporting Mike Fong for Assembly by voting for him on or before Tuesday, February 15.”
The Special Election for Assembly District 49 will be held on Tuesday, February 15. The Registrar of Voters began mailing vote-by-mail ballots to voters on January 14. Mike Fong is the only Democratic candidate on the ballot. More information about voting can be found here: MikeFong.org/Vote.
