Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis Endorses Honorable Lindsey P. Horvath for Supervisor

A majority of the LA County Board of Supervisors have endorsed Horvath’s candidacy

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Honorable Lindsey P. Horvath’s campaign for LA County Supervisor continues to amass support. Today, the campaign announced that Honorable Hilda Solis, LA County 1st District Supervisor, is endorsing Horvath’s run in the 3rd District. Solis is the third LA County Supervisor endorsing Horvath, following Supervisor for the 4th District Janice Hahn and Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, who currently represents the 3rd District.

“I admire Lindsey Horvath’s commitment to working families. She’s a proven leader that understands the urgency to house people experiencing homelessness, protect our natural resources and fight for environmental justice, and ensure an equitable, fair COVID-19 recovery. Lindsey is the most qualified candidate and will deliver for every community in the Third District. It is for those reasons that I endorse her campaign,” said Supervisor Hilda Solis.

Hilda Solis has ample experience in the public sector. She is the first Latina to serve in the United States Cabinet as President Obama’s Secretary of Labor from 2009 to 2013, as well as the First Latina ever elected to the California State Senate in 1994. She also was a Congresswoman from 2001 to 2009 and was a staffer at President Carter’s Office of Hispanic Affairs. Solis also has earned multiple awards for her advocacy around environmental justice and equity.

As County Supervisor, Solis has led the COVID-19 recovery and vaccination efforts with equity in her district.

“It is an immense honor to earn Supervisor Hilda Solis’ endorsement. Her priorities align with the most pressing issues our communities face. A leader not only in LA County but throughout the nation, Solis’ work has fostered a better quality of life for working people and families, environmental justice, clean energy jobs, access to healthcare, protections for immigrants, and access to services for veterans. Above all, Solis centers equity in all of her endeavors. I look forward to partnering with Supervisor Solis to deliver for working people, and to serve on the LA County Board of Supervisors as an ally for communities who need our help the most,” said Hon. Lindsey P. Horvath.
