PALAD 2022 Round 1 Endorsements

Los Angeles, CA — On May 1, 2022, the Endorsement Committee, composed of all voting members of the Pilipino American Los Angeles Democrats (PALAD) Board, concluded round one of the 2022 Endorsements process. PALAD issues endorsements in local, municipal, statewide, and national elections, to determine who aligns best with PALAD’s values when races are contested or there are many qualified candidates. Our endorsements process seeks to uplift candidates who we believe will best represent the values PALAD believes in and actively engage in and represent the Filipino American community here in Los Angeles.

In our first round of endorsements, PALAD worked hard to ensure a transparent and fair endorsement process for all candidates who participated. Consequently, PALAD also ensured that the candidates we have chosen to endorse are committed to supporting the Filipino American and Asian American communities and are aligned with the values held both by PALAD and the Democratic Party platform. PALAD received endorsement applications from 38 candidates. PALAD hosted an endorsements meeting on Sunday, April 21st, and provided a historic opportunity for community, civic, and political engagement in the election process.

With upcoming elections in November, this serves as an important process to fortify the accountability of those seeking office and aid the Filipino American community in selecting candidates who best understand our interests and needs and have proposals to address them.

Lastly, round two of PALAD endorsements will begin in July 2022. More details will be released in the coming months. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected]
