Rizhao, a happy home for foreigners

The first foreigner service station of Rizhao was set up recently to further enhance the foreign affairs business environment.

The service station integrates all of Rizhao’s foreign-related work forces to provide one-stop comprehensive services for foreigners in this city, creating a so-called “government + State-owned enterprises + social forces” service model to make it easier for foreigners to live and work in Rizhao.

In recent years, Rizhao has been optimizing its business environment, formulating appropriate measures to make it easier for foreigners to work in Rizhao, and took the lead in implementing a foreign talent innovation reward system, aiming to attract more foreigners to come to work or study in the city.

The Rizhao government also compiled the “Service Guide for Foreigners Working and Living in Rizhao” and set up service lines in seven languages – English, Korean, Japanese, German, Russian, Spanish, and Italian – to provide consulting services related to epidemic prevention and control, vaccination, and emergency response, making it more convenient for foreign personnel to travel, work and live in Rizhao.

In addition, Rizhao regularly holds cultural events to allow foreigners in the city to experience the local traditional Chinese culture, such as wrapping rice dumplings during Dragon Boat Festival, learning to use chopsticks and visiting museums, aiming to tell Chinese stories to the outside world and promote international exchange.

Near the service station, there is a library full of classics in English, including China’s ancient fables, legends, introductions of historical figures, intangible cultural heritage items, and Chinese cuisine.
