LA County Commission on Human Relations Releases Proposed Strategic Plan for Public Comment
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations released their proposed strategic plan and is inviting members of the public to comment on it.
“Our effectiveness in our assigned responsibility to promote positive human relations and advance equity in LA County depends on productive collaboration with County government and community partners. Their participation in our strategic planning process is a core element of that collaboration,” said Commissioner Preeti Kulkarni, chair of the Strategic Planning Committee.
Members of the public can submit their feedback by September 12 to [email protected] after they review the proposed strategic plan available at https://hrc.lacounty.gov/.
The feedback received will provide the Commission with ideas on how to better serve the people and communities of LA County.
Commission President Ilan Davidson affirmed, “We are eager for our work to be informed by the richly diverse voices that make LA County special, to involve more of our youth, the future leaders of our County, and to explore new paths of communication with those we serve.”
“Throughout our nearly 65 years of existence, our agency has sought to transform prejudice into acceptance, inequity into justice, and hostility into peace. We know that a relatively small agency such as ours relies upon the collaboration of so many others, and that collaboration is especially key in receiving feedback on our proposed strategic plan,” said Commission Executive Director Robin Toma.
The Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations is dedicated to promoting positive human relations in our richly diverse, multicultural County. The Commission works to develop programs that proactively address racism, homophobia, religious prejudice, linguistic bias, anti-immigrant sentiment, and other divisive attitudes that can lead to intercultural tension, hate crimes, and related violence.
