LOS ANGELES COUNTY & SAN FERNANDO VALLEY YOUNG DEMOCRATS ENDORSE COUNCILWOMAN LINDSEY HORVATH FOR SUPERVISOR

Democratic Youth Organizations Add to the List of Activist Groups Endorsing Horvath’s Bid for LA County Supervisor

LOS ANGELES, CA – Los Angeles County Young Democrats (LACYD) and San Fernando Valley Young Democrats (SFVYD) announced their endorsement of Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath for Los Angeles County Supervisor. The organizations’ endorsements are additional signs of Horvath’s overwhelming support among Democratic activists and organizations.

“Lindsey Horvath embodies the future of Los Angeles Democratic politics,” said LACYD President Jessica Maldonado. “From her history with LACYD to her advocacy as a city council member and mayor, Lindsey has been a champion for young people and will continue to advocate for issues young voters care about like sustainable housing and community-focused public safety services to keep everyone safe.”

“We are proud to support Lindsey Horvath to represent the San Fernando Valley on the LA County Board of Supervisors,” said SFVYD President Michael Menjivar. “Lindsey embodies the mission, purpose, and values of the Valley, and we know she will fight every day for our community on the Board.”

LACYD is one of the largest organizations in California focused on uniting young Democrats and empowering youth to use their voice in political activism at the local, state, and national levels. Founded in 1994 by a group of young activists including current California Senator Alex Padilla, SFVYD is also dedicated to promoting opportunities for young professionals in the San Fernando Valley to be active in the Democratic Party.

“In my early years of public service, both LACYD and SFVYD shaped and strengthened my leadership, so earning the endorsements of these two organizations is especially meaningful,” said LA County Supervisorial candidate Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath. “These powerful organizations are comprised of dedicated members and activists who are committed to empowering the voices of young people in the democratic process. I look forward to continuing the fight alongside these strong leaders with shared progressive values, as well as our work towards a more equitable future for Los Angeles County.”
