Jane Fonda Calls the Race for LA County Supervisor District 3 “One of the Most Important Climate Races in California”

Los Angeles, CA – Today, actor and activist Jane Fonda announced the continued support of the Jane Fonda Climate PAC for Candidate for LA County Supervisor District 3, Councilwoman Lindsey P. Horvath.

“The Jane Fonda Climate PAC has never been afraid to stand up to politicians who ignore the reality of what’s at stake, and neither has Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath. She has what it takes to lead Los Angeles in the right direction – toward a future of clean energy, clean air, and clean water,” said Jane Fonda. “Councilwoman Horvath is a fighter for the people, not the fossil fuel industry.”

“Jane Fonda has been a tireless fighter – for women, for justice, for our planet and our people – and I could not be more thrilled to be endorsed by the Jane Fonda Climate PAC for LA County Supervisor,” said Councilwoman Lindsey P. Horvath. “I am eager to roll up my sleeves with Jane and defeat the political allies of the fossil fuel industry at all levels of government.”

“I have championed full funding for the County’s award-winning sustainability plan, while leading the fight for clean, renewable energy through my role with the Clean Power Alliance of Southern California – the nation’s largest community choice aggregation utility. Conversely, my opponent has taken over a quarter of a million dollars from the fossil fuel industry, and has voted against the environment and his constituents’ health and safety – whether through the permanent closure of Aliso Canyon or through disclosure on the Santa Susana settlement agreement – time and time again. It is absolutely imperative that he keep his Sacramento ‘Polluter Caucus’ values far, far away from this seat on the County Board of Supervisors.”

The Jane Fonda Climate PAC is laser-focused on defeating politicians who support and accept donations from fossil fuel companies and electing climate champions at all levels of government. The PAC leverages the donations of those who are climate concerned to counter the outsized influence the fossil fuel industry has on our government.
