CALABASAS LEADERS ENDORSE COUNCILWOMAN LINDSEY P. HORVATH FOR LA COUNTY SUPERVISOR

Longest-serving Woman on the Calabasas City Council and Current Mayor Mary Sue Maurer Joins Councilmember James Bozajian in Choosing Horvath

LOS ANGELES, CA – Today, Councilwoman and candidate for Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath secured the endorsement of Calabasas Mayor Mary Sue Maurer in addition to Councilmember James Bozajian, adding to an impressive coalition of local leaders supporting Horvath’s campaign.

“Councilwoman Horvath and I share a deep commitment to building a resilient and sustainable future,” said Mayor Mary Sue Maurer. “We both led our cities towards converting to 100% renewable energy, and I am confident that she will continue the fight to make LA County safer and greener as Supervisor.”

Even before her election to the Calabasas City Council in 2005, Mayor Mary Sue Maurer was dedicated to environmental preservation efforts, advocating for the cleanup of toxic sites with CalEPA and working on the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission. She also sponsored significant initiatives such as the ban on plastic bags and one-time-use Styrofoam packaging. Mayor Maurer and Councilwoman Horvath served together on the board of the Clean Power Alliance. Councilmember James Bozajian, who has served with Councilwoman Horvath as a member of the California Contract Cities Association, has been an attorney for both the LA County District Attorney’s Office and the State Compensation Insurance Fund. He has served on the Calabasas City Council since 1997.

“I’ve seen Lindsey work everyday to keep her own community safe throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, and I know she will bring this same level of dedication to the Board of Supervisors,” said Councilmember James Bozajian. “I am proud to support Lindsey, and I am confident that she will continue to deliver for our communities.”

“I am grateful to have the support of Mayor Maurer and Councilmember Bozajian, who are passionate, thoughtful leaders in their communities,” said Councilwoman Lindsey P. Horvath. “Tackling our climate crisis and keeping our communities safe requires bold action at every level of government, and I look forward to continuing our partnership in my role as Supervisor with Mayor Mauer and Councilmember Bozajian.”
