CA NOW ENDORSES COUNCILWOMAN LINDSEY HORVATH FOR LA COUNTY SUPERVISOR

Largest Organization of Feminist Grassroots Activists Adds to the Large List of Reproductive Freedom Organizations that Back Horvath’s Bid for Supervisor

LOS ANGELES, CA – Today, Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath added to the coalition of reproductive rights leaders backing her campaign with a new endorsement from the California chapter of the National Organization of Women (CA NOW). CA NOW is an organization advocating for women’s rights and protests against gender oppression to help contribute towards a more equal and equitable society.

“As a grassroots organization committed to institutionalizing intersectional gender equity that advocates for women in politics, fights for reproductive justice, and condemns violence against women, CA NOW fully supports Lindsey Horvath in her campaign for Los Angeles County Supervisor,” said CA NOW President Camerina PS Davidson.

CA NOW is a state chapter of the National Organization of Women, which was founded in 1966 with the goal of ending sex discrimination in the home, workplace, and society. The organization continues to initiate change for women across the country through their protests and advocacy work. CA NOW focuses on protecting reproductive rights, ending sex discrimination, promoting economic justice, preventing violence against women, and supporting LGBTQIA rights.

“I’m honored to have the support of CA NOW, which has been incredibly influential in my own public service journey,” said Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath. “The California chapter of the National Organization for Women has made invaluable contributions in creating community and allyship that acknowledges the rights and opportunities all women deserve. CA NOW has been and will continue to be an integral voice in the movement to protect and advance abortion rights, especially in light of the Supreme Court’s recent disastrous decision, and I will continue to fight alongside them to ensure safe access for all.”
