PICO CANYON PARK TEMPORARILY CLOSED
LOS ANGELES, CA – The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation has taken immediate action to temporarily close Pico Canyon Park, located in Stevenson Ranch, CA., until further notice after an aggressive mountain lion was seen in the area.
An active investigation led by Fish and Wildlife on an attack of a 7-year old child that occurred on September 26, 2022 is underway. The child suffered non-life threatening injuries. According to Fish and Wildlife authorities, the investigation is being carried out as if this were a confirmed attack, however, the investigation is still ongoing.
If you see a mountain lion in the area, you are urged immediately to contact 9-1-1.
