COUNCILMEMBER MARQUEECE HARRIS-DAWSON ENDORSES COUNCILWOMAN LINDSEY HORVATH FOR SUPERVISOR

Los Angeles City Councilmember Joins Regional Leaders In
Backing Horvath’s Campaign

LOS ANGELES, CA – Today, Los Angeles City Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson officially endorsed Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath’s bid for Los Angeles County Supervisor. Harris-Dawson’s endorsement adds to the impressive list of local leaders endorsing Horvath’s campaign.

“Lindsey Horvath’s intersectional approach to solving homelessness through housing, services, and community safety is just what LA County needs. Her career-long focus on equity makes her the best candidate in this race,” said Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson. “I am proud to endorse Lindsey Horvath for LA County Supervisor.”

Councilmember Harris-Dawson assumed office in 2015 after serving as the President and CEO of Community Coalition for 10 years. He has been a champion for education, joining a campaign that gave South Los Angeles schools $153 million for repair and modernization, and he also co-authored Proposition HHH, a $1.2 billion bond measure to build permanent supportive housing for those unhoused and at risk of becoming unhoused.

“It is clear that Councilmember Harris-Dawson and I have shared values. We have both taken action to humanely support our unhoused population, to address the issues surrounding the homelessness crisis, and to fight for equity in our cities,” said Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath. “We have also looked beyond our respective borders at ways to influence meaningful change, including through the lessons learned on our trip to Israel with the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles in 2012. It is truly an honor to receive the endorsement of such a dedicated leader, and I look forward to our continued partnership when I am elected as the next Los Angeles County Supervisor.”
