COUNCILWOMAN LINDSEY HORVATH CALLS ON BOB HERTZBERG TO RENOUNCE SUPPORT FROM CEDILLO, DE LEÓN, HERRERA
Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath Calls for Resignations, Renouncement of Support in Response to Hateful, Racist, Homophobic Remarks and Actions by Los Angeles Leaders
Los Angeles, CA – Today, Councilwoman and Candidate for Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Lindsey Horvath released the following statement in response to Los Angeles’ Crisis of Governance and State Senator Bob Hertzberg’s refusal to renounce support from those involved. It has been over 48 hours since we first heard selections of the recording, and it has been over 48 hours since County Supervisor Candidate Bob Hertzberg has refused to renounce the support from Councilmembers De León and Cedillo and former Labor Federation President Ron Herrera.
“Bob Hertzberg says he will clean up the mess in LA County, but he IS the mess. For 48 hours, Bob Hertzberg has refused to renounce the support of his political allies. It’s no surprise – when Bob was accused of sexually aggressive groping, it was Kevin De León on the Senate Rules Committee who helped squash any true accountability and preserve Hertzberg’s position of power.
Bob Hertzberg and his allies continually contribute to the same toxic political culture in Los Angeles that protects corrupt and entrenched politicians, which does not represent our communities, deliver for the people, or create meaningful change.
It is time for Los Angeles to move forward and leave the failed leadership of people like Bob Hertzberg behind.”
