AMERICANS FOR DEMOCRATIC ACTION SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ENDORSES COUNCILWOMAN LINDSEY HORVATH FOR LA COUNTY SUPERVISOR

Largest and Most Active Chapter of Powerhouse Organization Adds to Growing List of Supporters for Horvath’s Bid for Supervisor

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Southern California chapter of Americans for Democratic Action (ADA) has endorsed Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath in her bid for Los Angeles County Supervisor, adding to a growing list of powerful endorsements.

“Lindsey Horvath is someone who will keep the ideals of the New Deal dream alive,” said ADA SoCal President Clifford Tasner. “We need someone who will bring progressive leadership and policies to the Board of Supervisors, instead of servicing special interests. She’s exactly who our families need.”

Americans for Democratic Action is a nationwide, multi-issue progressive organization founded in 1947 by Eleanor Roosevelt, Arthur Schlesinger Jr, and Hubert H. Humphrey. The ADA supports progressive candidates who put the needs of their constituents ahead of corporate donors. They have consistently been at the forefront of cutting-edge issues. The ADA pioneered in the fight for civil rights in the 1940s and 1950s, education reform and serious anti-poverty programs in the 1960s, environmental protection in the 1960s and ‘70s, and fair trade and workers’ rights in the 1990s. The Southern California chapter is the largest and most active chapter of ADA.

“Americans for Democratic Action puts the voter first and the politics second,” said Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath. “ADA has a vision for a United States that works fairly for all, which aligns with my goals as LA County Supervisor. It’s an honor to receive this support, and I am eager to continue the fight for justice for all Americans alongside ADA.”
