Los Angeles, CA (October 21, 2022) – Yesterday, over 700 children had a chance to explore Kidspace Children’s Museum and enjoy some hands-on music, art, and science activities thanks to an event sponsored by Supervisor Kathryn Barger.

The invitation-only event engaged youth under the supervision of Los Angeles County’s Department of Children and Family Services and their caregivers, as well as children from the surrounding Pasadena community and their families. The free admission opened doors to the museum’s beautiful 3.5-acre campus, which consists of more than 40 hands-on exhibits, a live animal collection, and a variety of creative play spaces.

“My goal was to offer some of our community’s most deserving children an opportunity to experience joy, wonder, and something out of the ordinary,” said Supervisor Kathryn Barger. “I sponsored this event because I truly believe that children must be exposed to positive play experiences like those offered at Kidspace. Through play, children learn how to navigate the world with confidence, and that in turn helps unlock their potential.”

“We are thrilled that Supervisor Barger chose Kidspace to hold such a joyous event,” said Lisa Clements, Kidspace Children’s Museum Chief Executive Officer. “We share a commitment to ensuring that every child has the opportunity for the social, emotional, and physical benefits of play.”

The joy and excitement felt by the children who attended was evident as they enjoyed unique play areas that encouraged their full immersion into Kidspace’s exhibits. Physics Forest, Muddy Boot Farm, and the all-new Ramps & Rollers exhibit proved to be amongst the most popular. Seasonal activities were also enjoyed including a Halloween Parade and pumpkin decorating. A local favorite ice cream shop – Fosselman’s Ice Cream Company – was also on hand distributing treats to top off the youths’ day.
