To Usher in its Centennial Anniversary, China Institute in America Appoints George S. Geh as New CEO

NEW YORK, May 25, 2023 – China Institute in America is delighted to announce the appointment of George S. Geh as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the renowned cultural institute that has been promoting a better understanding of China through art, culture, education, and business for 97 years. Effective May 25, 2023, George takes over from James B. Heimowitz, who has helmed the organization since 2014 and will assume the new role of Honorary Chair.

 

George brings to China Institute over 30 years of business experience across the U.S., China, and Europe in private equity, management consulting, and corporate management. He most recently served as Managing Director (MD) at the Lone Star Funds and prior to that as MD at AlixPartners. He was also the Head of Worldwide Strategy for Alstom Power for four years. George received his MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, MS from Pennsylvania State University, and BS from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. A Chinese American, George is an active member of the local community. As U.S.-China relations enter a new era, George’s deep knowledge of China and cross-border management experience will play a pivotal role in strengthening the influence of the Institute to facilitate collaboration between the two countries.
