2018 SoCal Winter Mixer Connects Students with Industry Leaders
LAPost/North Hollywood, (February 24th, 2018) – The 2018 SoCal Winter Mixer, organized by the Chinese Students and Scholars Association at UCLA (UCLA-CSSA), took place on the afternoon of February 24th in North Hollywood. Around 200 outstanding students and young professionals gathered to network and receive personalized career advice from industry experts.
Samuel Kwan, Director of the UCLA-CSSA Career Development Division, shared that 25 distinguished guests from various industries were invited to the event. The goal was to help Chinese international students gain a better understanding of industry requirements, professional dynamics, and how to establish career goals after graduation.
Keynote speaker Evie Jeang, Managing Partner of Ideal Legal Group and a UCLA alumna, discussed her career journey, sharing insights on her switch from sociology to law. Another keynote speaker, Teddy Zee, Founder and CEO of Teddy Zee Productions and former Executive Vice President of Columbia Pictures, emphasized that passion is the key motivator for achieving success in one’s career.
“I met a lot of new friends today,” said Rui Yao, a visiting scholar from Guangzhou University at UCLA.
