STATEMENT: AAPI Victory Alliance On Celebrating the Start of Hispanic Heritage Month

WASHINGTON — In honor of the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, the AAPI Victory Alliance released a statement celebrating the many contributions of the Hispanic community to this country and emphasizing the importance of intersectional advocacy work.

AAPI Victory Alliance Board Member, Patrick Branco, issued the following statement:

“Today, we celebrate the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month. This month, we are honoring the culture, sacrifices, and accomplishments of Latinos across our country and history. As a Native Hawaiian and Latino, I honor both my heritages proudly. And as a community of immigrants, AAPI Victory Alliance recognizes the many contributions the Latino community has made to the very fabric of our country.

“We are united in our fight for a thriving, multiracial democracy and stand in solidarity with the Latino community this month, and every month. When we harness political power in our communities, we ensure America lives up to its true ideals of equality and justice for all.”
