La Mirada, CA (September 21, 2023) –  Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn is partnering with the LA Opera to screen the opening night performance for residents in Los Angeles County’s La Mirada Community Regional Park this Saturday, September 23, 2023. Over 1,500 people have already RSVP’d to this weekend’s free event to see Mozart’s “Don Giovanni.”

“There are opera lovers across the county but it is tough to get all the way to Downtown Los Angeles for a performance,” said Supervisor Janice Hahn. “That is why I partnered with the LA Opera to bring show and the magic of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion to La Mirada and give people this opportunity to enjoy the performance for free.”

The performance will be transmitted live in high-definition video from nine cameras at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in downtown LA to large LED screens at La Mirada Community Regional on Saturday, September 23. Through the support and partnership of Los Angeles County and Supervisor Hahn, LA Opera is able to present these simulcasts free of charge. Don Giovanni will mark the first time that LA Opera’s annual live simulcast will be experienced by audiences in La Mirada.

“Bring your blankets, a picnic, and get ready to enjoy the opera in our beautiful county park under the stars,” said Supervisor Hahn.

Gates will open at 4:30pm and the broadcast will begin at 6:00pm. Prior to the simulcast, attendees will enjoy live performances, lawn games, and arts and craft activities. There will be a beer garden on-site and food for purchase.

Guests are encouraged to RSVP.
