| Our hearts are deeply saddened as we mourn the loss of Mr. Chien Chung (Didi) Pei, who passed away on December 12, 2023.
Didi was a remarkable architect and outstanding advocate for improving U.S.-China relations. He served as the Chair and Co-Chair of China Institute in America for over ten years, guiding us with wisdom, passion, and steadfast commitment to fostering cross-cultural understanding and appreciation between China and the rest of the world.
As Chair and Co-Chair, Didi’s leadership transformed the Institute into a dynamic center of cultural exchange, nurturing collaboration and dialogue between East and West. His unwavering belief in the transformative power of education and cultural exchange propelled our community forward, leaving an indelible impact that will continue to resonate.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to Didi’s family, friends, and all those who were touched by his remarkable spirit. May his legacy inspire us to build bridges of understanding and collaboration, just as he did throughout his extraordinary life. |
