East Los Angeles College Alumni Association Celebrates Successful Golf Tournament
Monterey Park, CA—The East Los Angeles College (ELAC) Alumni Association is proud to announce the resounding success of its first Master of the Green Golf Tournament, held in July 2024 at the CA Country Club. The event brought together alumni, friends, and supporters for a day of camaraderie, competition, and community spirit.
This year’s tournament was a milestone, with over one hundred participants, a testament to the growing support for the ELAC Alumni Association’s initiatives. The beautiful weather and the pristine condition of the CA Country Club provided the perfect backdrop for this historic event.
“We are thrilled with the turnout and the enthusiasm shown by our alumni and supporters,” said Reyna Valadez, President of the ELAC Alumni Association. “The funds raised from this tournament will significantly benefit our scholarship programs, student activities, and community outreach efforts.”
Highlights of the event included a putting contest, a hole-in-one contest, raffle items, several vendors, and a post-tournament dinner, during which all the participants had the opportunity to bid on exciting items during the live auction. Special thanks go to our sponsors, including event Platinum Sponsor Jacobs and Gold Sponsor LA County Supervisor Hilda Solis, and Silver Sponsors Monica Vasquez, Emiliano Sauceda, Republic Services, PIH Health Hospital, and ELAC Alumni Association President Emeritus Maria Elena Yepes, whose generous contributions made this event possible.
“The ELAC Alumni Association extends its gratitude to all participants, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and staff who contributed to the success of this year’s Golf Tournament. We look forward to continuing this tradition and creating even more memorable experiences for our alumni community in the future,” said Emiliano Sauceda, VP, ELAC Alumni Association, Chair, 2024 Master of the Green Golf Tournament organizing committee.
