Barger Comments on L.A. County Vote by Mail Ballots Issued Starting Today
Supervisor Kathryn Barger released this statement reacting to the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk starting to issue Vote by Mail ballots today for the upcoming November 20224 election:
“Voting is a fundamental right and a cornerstone of democracy. The Vote by Mail ballots that have started being mailed out today give Los Angeles County citizens an opportunity to cast their vote in a convenient and accessible way.
In person voting will certainly always be an option. But, for individuals who may have difficulty reaching polling places—such as the elderly, disabled, or those living in remote areas—these ballots can be a more comfortable way to participate in elections.
Enhancing ways the public can exercise their right to vote through a secure democratic process is crucial for shaping the future we desire.”
Voters can expect to start receiving their ballots in the mail within the next few days. A new tracking mechanism for ballots called “Where’s My Ballot” is also now available that tracks when ballots have been mailed, received, and counted.
