Over 600 Attend Third Annual “Shenzhen People Reporting Day” and First “Shenzhen Everyone Happy Stage” Show in Monterey Park
LAPost/City of Monterey Park, CA – The South California Shenzhen Association and the American Homeland Love Foundation hosted the third annual “Shenzhen People Reporting Day” and the debut “Everyone Happy Stage” show, celebrating community spirit and Shenzhen’s cultural legacy. Held on November 2 in Monterey Park, the event gathered over 600 participants to celebrate under the theme “A Day as a Shenzhen Person, a Lifetime of Shenzhen Spirit.”
The event kicked off with a grand entrance parade featuring 17 teams from South California Shenzhen Association chapters. Each team marched in unison, led by their captains, radiating the dynamic energy of Shenzhen. The audience warmly applauded as the participants showcased the vibrant spirit and unity of the Shenzhen community in America.
The program featured diverse performances that captivated the audience. Organizers also recreated the iconic “Everyone Happy Stage” from Shenzhen, a cultural landmark for many Shenzhen residents, allowing attendees young and old to take the stage and showcase their talents in a festive atmosphere.
Ye Dong, President of the South California Shenzhen Association and former resident of Shenzhen for over 35 years, expressed her commitment to serving the Shenzhen community with a heartfelt vision. “Shenzhen is an open, inclusive, and diverse city, much like the U.S. Both places offer inspiring environments filled with passion and entrepreneurial spirit,” Ye shared. She emphasized the spirit of resilience, stating, “As immigrants, we are not just putting down roots but planting seeds that will yield a prosperous future here.”
Ye’s words echoed the sentiment of the Shenzhen diaspora as they continue to flourish and succeed in their adopted country, driven by a shared spirit of innovation and unity.
