Hahn Authorizes Extended Metro Fare Suspension through Friday
Los Angeles, CA — With power outages related to the fire conditions continuing to affect infrastructure across Los Angeles County, Chair of the Metro Board of Directors Janice Hahn has authorized the extension of suspended fare collection on all Metro buses and trains for a third day through today, Friday January 10, 2025:
“The threat to human life and property from these fires has not passed, and the demand on our power grid remains extraordinarily high. At my direction, Metro will again suspend fare collection through today to ensure it remains available for those needing to travel.
My thoughts are with residents evacuating the devastation from the fires and with those helping them do so safely. Metro will continue to assist in every way we can.”
Metro service remains in operation with some rail and bus lines impacted by the wildfires. Service impact information can be found here.
