China Institute in America and Yue-Sai Kan One World Foundation Announce Fourth Annual “Outstanding Asian American Women Who Dared” Gala in Silicon Valley

LAPost/San Francisco, January 13, 2025 – The China Institute in America and the Yue-Sai Kan One World Foundation proudly announce the fourth annual Outstanding Asian American Women Who Dared gala, to be held on February 13, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Crowne Plaza Hotel San Francisco Airport in Silicon Valley.

The event, chaired by renowned philanthropist and entrepreneur Ms. Yue-Sai Kan, will honor a select group of exceptional Asian American women who have made significant contributions across various fields in the United States. The evening will also feature a dazzling fashion runway showcasing designs by acclaimed Chinese designer Grace Chen and eco-friendly creations by Sandriver from Inner Mongolia.

Celebrating Resilience and Leadership

Since its inception, the Women Who Dared gala has honored 31 remarkable women in ceremonies held in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. “Amid rising anti-Asian sentiment, it is crucial to recognize leaders who inspire others and uplift communities,” said Ms. Yue-Sai Kan, Event Chair and Co-Chair of the Board of the China Institute in America. “This gala celebrates individual success and the collective spirit of empowerment, reflecting our commitment to highlighting the impact of Asian American women.”

Organizers’ Legacy and Mission

The China Institute in America, founded in 1926 by John Dewey, Paul Monroe, Hu Shi (胡适), and Kuo Ping-Wen (郭秉文), is a prominent nonprofit dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of China through arts, culture, and education.

The Yue-Sai Kan One World Foundation, Ms. Yue-Sai Kan’s philanthropic endeavor, promotes cultural exchange and inclusivity. Building on the success of her former charity, the China Beauty Charity Fund, the foundation now produces the ONE WORLD video series. Launched in 2024, this project uses social media storytelling to bridge cultural divides and celebrate human experiences across Asian nations, the Pacific Islands, and the Middle East.
