SoCal Medtech Association Officially Established, Bringing Together Experts to Advance Medical Technology Innovation
LAPost/Newport Beach, CA (February 1, 2025) – On February 1, 2025, the inauguration ceremony and annual conference of the SoCal Medtech Association (SCMA) were grandly held at the Newport Beach City Hall in California. Professor Gaojun Teng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of the Interventional Therapy Center at Zhongda Hospital, Southeast University, extended his congratulations via video message. California State Assemblymember Diane Dixon attended the event to offer her congratulations and participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Founded in 2024, the SoCal Medtech Association (SCMA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to philanthropy, education, science, and healthcare. The association comprises a group of like-minded Chinese entrepreneurs, physicians, professors, and investment experts. Its mission is to foster innovative medical technologies, apply health economics theories, and promote global collaboration to address major healthcare challenges and drive advancements in life sciences.

Meanwhile, Craig Beam, President of Beam & Associates, a real estate consulting firm specializing in the healthcare industry, provided an overview of the development of Irvine’s medical ecosystem.

The event also featured an inspiring keynote speech by Guangqiang Jiang, co-founder and CTO of Axonics, Inc., who shared his entrepreneurial journey and success stories, encouraging attendees to embrace innovation and overcome challenges. Axonics, Inc. was acquired last year by Boston Scientific Corporation for $3.8 billion.

- Hyung Posalit, Founder and CEO of Toro Neurovascular, presented advanced stroke treatment solutions, emphasizing the company’s leadership in designing next-generation medical devices.
